There are 4 ways to deposit money into your ShareBuilder account:
Funds deposited are held in the money market cash balance and can be used to place real-time trades or to fund your Automatic Investment Plan. Alternately, you can automatically fund your Automatic Investment Plan with a transfer from your checking or savings account, or use Express Funding to place a real-time trade immediately.
Unfortunately, ShareBuilder does not accept cash deposits. Such deposits are returned upon receipt.
Note: Uninvested funds deposited in the money market cash balance earn dividends.

There are 3 ways to withdraw money from your ShareBuilder account:
Only funds held in your money market cash balance that are not reserved for trades or other transfers, or that are clear of holding periods, can be withdrawn from your ShareBuilder account.
An electronic funds deposit allows you to transfer funds into your ShareBuilder account without linking the request to a scheduled plan investment. While you may set up as many transfers as you wish, each request will activate only once.
Note: If your Automatic Investment Plan is set to automatically transfer funds from your checking or savings account, it is not necessary to setup an additional electronic funds deposit to fund plan investments (but you may set one up if you wish to transfer additional funds).
Electronic funds deposits must be setup by 5:00pm (ET) on the business day that the funds will be requested from your checking/savings account. The funds will be available in your ShareBuilder account money market cash balance on the business day following this request.
Note: If you change the checking or savings account on file with ShareBuilder, please be aware that all future requests will be made from the account that is on file at the time the request is sent to your checking or savings account. Open electronic withdrawal requests will not be affected as the checking/savings account number on file at the time of that request will be used.
There are two ways you can change the checking or savings account on file with ShareBuilder. The first is while in a process that uses your checking or savings account on file for funding or for payment of a charge. You will see a Change checking/savings account link. Clicking this link will expose fields to allow you to enter new account information.
You can change the checking or savings account on file with ShareBuilder at any time, but please be aware that all future requests will be made from the account that is on file at the time the request is sent to your checking or savings account. Open electronic withdrawal requests will not be affected as the checking/savings account number on file at the time of that request will be used.
Note: Repeated problems with transfers from your checking or savings account may result in the closure of your ShareBuilder account.
Yes, you can deposit money from more than one bank account, but you can only have one bank account on file with ShareBuilder at any given time. For example, if you submit a deposit request before the deadline for electronic funds transfers (5pm ET) on one business day, your funds will be posted to your ShareBuilder account the next business day. At that point, you can change the banking information on file with ShareBuilder to request funds from a different bank.
Please note that even if you set up multiple funds deposits in one day, all of the deposits will be requested from the bank you have on file with ShareBuilder at 5pm (ET), which is the deadline for electronic funds transfers.
After you deposit money into your ShareBuilder account, it is stored in a money market fund. A money market fund is a type of mutual fund that invests primarily in lower-risk, short-term investments. Examples of these types of investments include Treasury bills, certificates of deposit, commercial paper, and government securities.
