Using Find Symbol

Not sure of the stock symbol for a particular company? The Find Symbol tool allows you to enter the company or ETF name and see a list of possible matches and their symbols.

To find the symbol of a particular stock, do the following from the Find Symbol page:
  1. Enter the name or part of the name into the input field.
  2. Click on the Find Symbol button.
  3. Review the list of possible matches and their symbols.

      If you cannot find the security you are looking for, try using just part of the company name, or look for the stock on the ShareBuilder Stock List.

Market Movers

The Market Movers displays various lists of the most active stocks (including ETFs) from the trading session. The tool shows the following lists:

  • The most active stocks by trading volume
  • The top gainers or top losers, by percentage or net dollar amount
  • New 52-week highs and lows
  • The top requests of ShareBuilder customers

Each of the lists is based on a selected exchange, NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX. The top requests of ShareBuilder customers are stocks and ETFs purchased as a part of Automatic Investment Plans in the previous month. Aside from the most active stocks, there is also the ETF Market Movers tool that focuses on exchange-traded funds.

ETF Market Movers

Similar to the regular Market Movers tool, the ETF Market Movers displays various lists of the most active ETFs from the trading session. The tool shows the following lists:

  • The most active ETFs by trading volume
  • The top gainers
  • The top losers
  • The top requests by ShareBuilder customers

The top requests of ShareBuilder customers are ETFs purchased as a part of Automatic Investment Plans in the previous month.

Aside from the most active ETFs, there is also the Market Movers tool that focuses on stocks.
