Quotes & Research - Stocks

ShareBuilder's Research offers a variety of investment research information including quotes, news, charts and tools. The Research Overview page provides a broad overview, while the research sections focus on different types of investments and tools:

• Stocks: News and tools to help you find stocks
• Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs): Find out how these funds can help you diversify
• IPOs: News and information on the latest IPOs
• Research Tools: Highlights the different tools available

Throughout Research and the entire ShareBuilder site, quotes can always be conveniently accessed. The stock's symbol link always takes you to the detailed stock quote page - or look for the Quick Quote tool, enter a symbol and click Go.

The ShareBuilder Research Overview page displays a variety of information highlighting content from the various research sections:

• The Quick Quote tool gives quick access to quotes without leaving the page you're on
• Currently featured research tools
• Stock market news, including an up-to-date market snapshot and other top stories
• Other research options, linking to Exchange Traded Funds, Stocks and market update, and an IPOs sections
• The Market Movers shows the most active and ShareBuilder's most requested stocks and ETFs
• Stock quotes, charts, and other details are quickly accessible by clicking on any stock symbol

To view the Research Overview page, click on the Research tab, or the Overview page link in the section menu.

The Quick Quote tool is a convenient way to get on-the-page access to stock quotes and charts - and also keep track of how the major market indexes are doing.

Available throughout the ShareBuilder site, Quick Quote allows you to have instant access to stock, ETF and index quotes from wherever you might be on the site. This tool allows you to see a quick quote online or access a number of other options, including the detailed quote, charts and news.

To retrieve a stock quote:

1. Enter a symbol.
2. Select Quick Quote.
3. Click Go.

By default, the tool will provide a quick quote for that stock, without leaving the page you are on. To get more in-depth information on the chosen stock, click on the Stock Symbol link or on the Detailed Quote link.

• If you are not sure of the stock's correct symbol, click on the Find Symbol link for help.
• To get more in-depth information on an investment, choose Detailed Quote, Charts or any of the other options. Then click Go to be taken directly to that page.
• To toggle charts on and off, click on the Hide Chart and View Chart links.
• To view the major market indexes, such as the S&P 500, click on the Indexes link.

How to access news:

• To read a story: From any number of locations, click on the news headline to read the full news article. At the bottom of the page, page links and additional options are available.
• To browse headlines: To view a larger set of headlines for a given news column, select a More Articles link from various locations in the Research tab.

The IPOs section of the Research page shows the latest information on initial public offering stocks, news, and education. The Overview page provides insight into the very latest information, including:

• Recent IPOs, showing IPO stocks that are now available to all investors in the markets.
• Upcoming IPOs, showing companies that will have an IPO soon, and afterwards will be available to all investors.
• Current IPOs, if available, showing IPO issues where ShareBuilder is participating by accepting conditional offers.
• IPO Watch, reporting the latest news from the world of IPOs.
• Get IPO stock details, by clicking on any IPO company link.

The Market Movers displays various lists of the most active stocks (including ETFs) from the trading session. The tool shows the following lists:

• The most active stocks by trading volume
• The top gainers or top losers, by percentage or net dollar amount
• New 52-week highs and lows
• The top requests of ShareBuilder customers

Each of the lists is based on a selected exchange, NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX. The top requests of ShareBuilder customers are stocks and ETFs purchased as a part of Automatic Investment Plans in the previous month. Aside from the most active stocks, there is also the ETF Market Movers tool that focuses on exchange-traded funds.

With the stock quotes page, ShareBuilder provides the latest quotes and other investment information on a security. The information is organized by function into several different tabs:
