Regulatory Transaction Fee

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) assesses transaction fees on national securities exchanges and self-regulatory organizations with the intent to recover the costs of the government’s supervision and regulation of the securities markets and professionals. Like other broker-dealers, Sharebuilder offsets the cost of this fee by charging a regulatory transaction fee on the sale of securities.
